RED BRAINS ARE BETTER THAN GREEN BRAINS is a nonlinear narrative
based on the dialogue between two warring factions. The RED BRAINS
are being oppressed by the GREEN BRAINS. The dialogue is created with
a custom made scanning device that is hand-coded to interpret the colors
within the printed brain illustrations.
The illustrations are mono-prints of two brains. The two brains reveal their
thoughts through text to speech synthesis using a robotic voice module.
These thoughts are then mapped to the color patterns that are within the
two mono-prints.
The color sensor reads the illustrations or whatever is placed in front of it.
The RGB signals are then translated into an audio frequency that sounds
similar to an organ piano accompanied by robotic voices. This is then
broadcasted to an FM radio signal. The end result is a surreal symphony
of robotic voices and sounds.
